    QUICKUTZ DOES NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY...

up right. In fact, each year their NSD Gift Sets seem to get better and better!

    This year is NO EXCEPTION.

QuicKutz NSD Gift Sets all work around the theme  "BE YOU, BE COLORFUL"...

    • The BLUE set is all beach/vacation/summer dies, plus an awesome font called Relax.
    • The GREEN set is trees/foliage/recycling/Earth friendly dies, plus a font called Reuse.
    • The RED set is about backyard fun/bbq/picnics/food dies and has a cute font alled Enjoy.
    • and the PINK set is totally girly/flowery/princess/diva/lovey dies with a cursive font called Flirt!
With these sets you get major bang-for-the-buck. The number of Cookie Cutter dies in each set is huge - and a single case font is in there too.  Scrapy Land has these IN STOCK and ready to start shipping today!

Here is what I know from QuicKutz - when they released these to the vendors they sold out in THREE HOURS. That is how popular these are going to be. So don't delay. Sneak-peeks have been out there for a few days, so hopefully you've had your minds made up, as to which ones will be yours!

    They will NOT LAST LONG!

However, QuicKutz has placed a second order - but they are being manufactured as we speak {uh, type}. Estimated delivery is the first of June. So if you want one NOW, order today.

If you have any questions about shapes, specifics or colors - let me know.

OH, and did I mention the other colorful feature?

The dies in each set are COLORED.

    They are so fun, don't you think?! {FYI - the PINK set is with Brenda, but she's been dealing with a substantial family emergency this week. I'll be sending my prayers to her all weekend! And when she's able, she'll break out the PINK dies and dazzle us!}

OH, and did I mention the packaging?

Inside each curvy box is a tote bag...and color matching tote bag.

    • a PINK little make-up case
    • a cute RED picnic tote
    • a BLUE waterproof beach bag
    • and a GREEN reusable grocery sack
    Again, HOW FUN!?

    Now - for some projects:

this pages uses the Green Globe die and the Green Reuse font. LOVE this font, it's going to look beautiful with a bunch of other fonts! Here I mixed it with Mary Jane and Rollerskate!

this card uses the Blue Hibiscus and my favorite Blue Relax font. This hibiscus is GORGEOUS in person. It's big and it has lots of detail pieces. LOVE IT!

this card uses the Green Reuse font and the Green Nesting "Bead Rings" (they are really part of a tree) and the Blue Cocktail. Oh sure, you could make it into lemonade - but that's no fun!

this page uses the Red Hamburger shape, the Red Ketchup & Mustard bottles, the Red Oven Mitt, the Red BBQ Spatula and the Red Enjoy font. This font is awesome - it's a great size too!

here is a little close-up of the hamburger shape. I cut everything from white cardstock and colored the pieces with my Copics. Love how it came out. I even added some bottle details with a darker Copic than I was coloring with. CUTENESS!

Okay - that's it for right now. More to come throughout the day. And the night. And tomorrow!

Here are your Scrapy Land Bingo words for 2:00 pm PDT:

    1.      scrapbook
    29.   Diva
    65.   Go Kreate

I hope you get to cross off some of these!

    THE FIRST CHALLENGE...

    for the weekend:

create a scrapbook page with A ONE WORD TITLE!

Use whatever dies or machines you want to - copy an old Starting Blox page - scraplift yourself - be inspired by someone else. Doesn't matter.

All that matters is that it only have ONE WORD!

When you are done with your page(s) you can either:
    • post them over at the Scrapy Land Message Board (I will start a new thread that says ONE WORD Challenge), OR
    • if you haven't figured out how to do photo posting you may simply take a picture and send it to me in an email!
All emails to me today MUST COME TO ME DIRECTLY. No sending things to Dani - to forward to me. He has enough to do today in the warehouse!

    LIVE FROM THE COMMAND CENTER...

    {which don't fool yourself, is really just my clean scrap room}

    I bring you...

    Scrapy Land's
    National Scrapbook Day 2009
    Virtual Crop...

    KICKOFF!

And since I couldn't find any football players to join me this morning for a video interview - I went with the next best thing. My friend Cathy.

Straight from her equally clean studio in Minnesota (where they don't always have the best internet connection speeds - hence the somewhat pixilated images at time)...I give you Cathy Zielske.

Thanks for helping me out Cathy - I owe you one!

Now ladies - grab your Bingo lists and mark off the words she just called. I suggest just using a highlighter or a check-mark, in case we have to go back and double check words!

Today we'll be going for BINGO BLACKOUT. Meaning the first person to cross off all twenty-five words WINS!

Wins what, you ask? Well, Diva Diamonds of course! Thirty carats to the Bingo Blackout winner this weekend!

For details about our first challenge, and the other games we'll be playing, you'll have to tune in to the Scrapy Land UStream Studio.  I'll be there at 12:15 PDT. See you there!

So again, WELCOME to everyone who is playing with us this weekend. Fun, skills, tips, pages, prizes and friends await!

EDITED TO ADD: Cathy's bingo words were 11. cardstock, 23. buttons and 41. Revolution!

    LADIES, START YOUR ENGINES...

    on your marks,

    get set,

It's time for the first ever Scrapy Land Virtual Crop!

    {and the crowd goes wild!}

The day is here - the time is fast approaching - but there are still a few things to go over.

So forget about witty banter and cute pictures this morning...here is what you'll need to know for today and tomorrow:

    • This weekend you'll be earning "Diva Diamonds". Prizes, pages, challenges and random acts of crop-kindness, will be awarded varying quantities of diamonds. The quantity will be announced when the game is started or the challenge is posted. I have the master list - and will keep track of all diamonds awarded. You can keep track of your own as we go...but my list will be the official list.
    • Games will be "played" on both the message boards and on the blog. When posting replies or comments - your entries will be time-stamped. Now, today we'll likely be dealing with servers and connection speeds and log-jams...but time-stamps will stand. Whatever time your comment on the blog - or your reply on the message board is - it is!
    • I will DO MY BEST to double post everything. When a game starts I'll put it on the blog first. Then I'll add it to the message board. This is because I can schedule a blog post, I can't schedule a message board post. So always check the blog first! Refresh and reload will be your friends today...know it, use it, love it. Refresh, refresh, refresh (it's the symbol in your internet browser menu bar that is a circular arrow. It reloads the same web page, with whatever new information has been added!)
    • The schedule posted on the message board is an general guideline. Let's face it - I'm a mom, it's a school day, doorbells ring and carpools have to be run. Again, watch the blog.
    • This is going to be fun! I've never done this before, but my girlfriend who does this quite often has given me a bunch of pointers. If something goes terrible wrong - we'll blame her!
    • There will not be any passwords for the UStream studio today - too confusing. So we'll just be open access all weekend long. Access the studio through the link over in the side bar...and it should take you directly there. I would like for you to sign in once you're there - just because it's so much easier to chat with names...rather than numbers! Thanks!
OKAY - so here are your first set of instructions.

Be here on the blog at noon - PDT. That's 1:00 pm MDT, 2:00 pm CDT and 3:00 pm EDT. My friend from Minnesota is helping me start our croppin' weekend. Some of you might know her! Cathy Zielske? She jumped at the chance to take part in our kick off...so tune in right at noon!

Then about 12:15 we'll head over to the Scrapy Land studio! Remember, no password needed!

    I hope you're excited.
I hope you've warned the family.
I hope you have supplies at hand.
I hope you are ready to have fun!

    I'm already tired - I think I'm headed to take a nap.

NAH - naps are for weenies - just bring on the coffee!

    I'M HAVING AN...

epic crisis! Right now - this very second.

Our water heater burst last night - don't ask for the details. It's ugly!

    Everyone say "AWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwww..."!

Let's just say explaining to teenagers at 5:00 a.m. why there is no HOT water is not something I ever wish to relive!

So - this morning is just a wee bit UNPLANNED!

In the garage right now are 3 big guys - and every time I hear them say "this afternoon" I run to the door and glare at them!

I think it's working...needless to say I have lots in front of me to keep me distracted!

On the bright side - better last night than Friday night! SEE - there's always a bright side! At least that's what I keep muttering to myself thru a clenched jaw!

Okay - enough drama - on to bigger and better things!

    Hmmmmmm...jewels?? Sounds interesting doesn't it? {hee hee}

SLVC Bingo registration is now closed! WHEW - sixty six ladies will be playing - even more will be watching, lurking, viewing, scrapping and winning. Holy cow the prizes that are rolling in are AMAZING! Dani ROCKS - thank you! QuicKutz ROCKS - thank you! Spellbinders ROCKS - thank you! American Crafts ROCKS - thank you!

We love 'em all! And what we're finding is THEY ALL LOVE SCRAPY LAND!

The message board has been humming with people practicing their links and the photo insertion. How fun does that sound? {hee hee} Good work ladies! If you still have questions, feel free to shoot me an email - I'll try and help you out. Or post a comment on the boards, an another board-guru can help you out as well!

This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!

I seriously need to do some tidying up around here - my room is a mess and that needs to change. Well, before Friday at least.

For today - I'm creating. Playing with colors and shapes and dies and letters. It's a gorgeous mess, if I do say so myself!

Remember - to participate in this weekend's activities you need to be a registered member of the Scrapy Land message board. You'll also need to be registered over at Ustream.com. Scroll down to Monday's post for more details on that.

Leave a comment today and let everyone know what you're doing to get ready...
    • Dawn has take-out-menus ready for her husband
    • Jodi and Randi are printing pictures
    • Mary Beth has pulled out all of her Blox pages so she can scrap-lift herself
    • Vicki is so excited she can hardly speak
    • Brenda got a one-on-one computer tutorial from yours truly
    • Kathy and Donna are recruiting family members to join them
    • and Dania just repainted her entire scrap space!
WHEW. I'm going to take a nap! I think I'm going to need it.

But first, I'm making a pitcher of lemonade for the plumber, the drywaller and the framer. I'm not above brown-nosing!
