for Scrapy Land's Starting Blox Week #30!
WOO HOO!
I have to admit - I didn't know how well this "ME" challenge was going to go over. I didn't know if you'd embrace the whole "scrap myself" dare!
The interesting thing is - there were some of you who I just knew would participate! I should have written a list of "ME participants" because I would have guessed more than half of you! I LOVE IT!
And, I love it not only because these gals now have one more completed page in their albums {or stacked on the shelf, waiting to purchase new albums like me}, but they have something recorded about themselves! Something for their kids to look at. A change of pace from the norm. Something different maybe. Something YOU!
And you just HAVE to love that! Really, you do!
So here are you pages for this week, in no particular order - - -
from
SHELLY, a 2-pager:
supplies used: Sizzix Summer Block font. What a gorgeous page. In college I learned that black and yellow is the most eye-catching color combination {think traffic warning signs!} and this page proves that. STUNNING. Mixing up patterns and sized and shapes...and great pictures!
Shelly's coordinating page is more of the same. Fun pre-cut borders, and those fun little sticker-letters that I am a sucker for! Great journaling - and two more pages done! Thanks for sharing this week Shelly!
from MARY BETH:
supplies used: QK Central Park font and QK Nutmeg font and QK Dots border and QK Squares and Dots border and the QK Star DooDads. LOVE these two fonts together. Something about the thin-and-wispy mixed with bold-and-swoopy...looks great! We know MB is a Disney fanatic - so it's only fitting that her pictures all be from Disney. But you know what - that's just fine. That's part of her message about herself...DISNEY-FANATIC! Good stuff MB - thanks!
from MARY N.:
supplies used: QK Jacqueline font, QK Diesel font, QK Bead Border and QK 3D Flower. When Mary sent me this - my first comment back to her was "love your nicknames". Then that inspired me to start my own nickname page. {Because Lord knows, I have several!} What a great idea. Think of the roles you play in your life, and chances are you have a different name in some of those roles. Great idea Mary - and LOVE how you worked in the negatives from your bead borders! TOO CUTE! And can I just say - I hope I look this amazing when I'm a grandmother multiple times over!
from KIM S.:
supplies used: QK Diesel font, QK Rollerskate font and the QK Sand Dollar. Aren't these just the cutest pictures? Love that she did one with her foot, and one just of her foot prints. And hey, if your own footprint doesn't make you-you, I don't know what does! Great job Kim - and I love the two fonts you mixed together. Such a great pair-up! Thanks for scrapping your vacation work pictures for us!
from KATHY S.:
supplies used: a Cricut cut title, QK Nesting Stars, QK Coffee & Tea {an exclusive from cough-cough, another store!} and some crazy-fun Stickles accents. Love the variety of pictures here - Kathy being her Diva-self, Kathy skiing and Kathy celebrating her birthday! What fun, what great memories and what a variety of things we now know about Kathy! Thanks for playing along this week Kathy - good work!
from JOSÉ:
supplies used: QK Cookie Cutter flowers and the retired QK Phoebe SkinniMini font. José's title is tricky to translate - but basically means "Me, a fortunate mother...the greatest gift I have is you!" How sweet! So cute how José outlined her shaped paper with a row of flowers and dots. And she did an amazing job mixing up her patterned papers too. Black and whites, just like Shelly! You girls are just impressive...thanks for sharing!
from JENNIFER:
supplies used: QK Bead border. Love how Jennifer extended all of the mats for her photos to leave room for some bling and borders! CUTE! And using that big ol' rub-on in one piece is stunning! Great work Jennifer - and we're glad you're admitting your Copic addiction here with photographic evidence! {wink, wink} LOVE IT! Thanks for stepping up to the challenge this week!
from GAIL:
supplies used: QK Dragonfly font, QK Journal Grand font, QK Vine border and the Cookie Cutter Nesting Label. Great work Gail! Love how she cut apart her vine borders to fit in a bunch of different areas. Gail admitted that this was a "tough challenge" for her - and that at first she was going to skip this week! {GASP!} But she thought better of it...and look at her results! Old pictures and a new picture - all together! Sweet journaling from the heart too! Congrats Gail for digging deep and gettin' it done! We're glad you shared it with us!
from DONNA:
supplies used: QK 3D Butterfly, Making Memories Slice (for her title). Look at Donna's cutie-patootie husband...love that she used a picture with him. Sometimes I fear that my kids will forget that I'm married to their father! LOL - I rarely scrap pictures of just the two of us! GOOD JOB Donna. And then some crazy pictures with her friends - I wouldn't expect anything less. The shadow behind her title totally makes it pop off the page...a great technique! Thanks for sharing missy - now go squeeze that husband of yours for us!
and from DANIA:
supplies used: QK Blossom Grand and QK Chick-A-Dee font. At first I was going to send this back to Dania and tell her she had to hand write her journaling - but I decided to give her a pass {LOL}. Only because she included the picture of her being smooshed between two huge M&Ms. I figure that earned her bonus points! Fun pictures, lots of journaling and some insight into who Dania is. I think her kids will LOVE showing this page to the next generation! Thanks for being my first responder this week Dania - way to go!
That's it for right now. Lots going on today, lots of stacks, lot of to-dos. And you all know how that goes!
I'll pop back in a couple of hours with a new Starting Blox. Week #31 - holy scrap! Where is this year going?
But now that it IS October, it's time to start with Halloween ideas. Candy bags, treat containers, goblin wallets, snarky cards...the works! I say this October let's do it up right! {LOL}
And here at Scrapy Land - we DO do it up right!
I'm here for your habit...
