    IT ALWAYS SEEMS LIKE...

    a really big Monday follows a holiday. Doesn't it?

    Call it "Cyber-Monday". Call it "Dani just released four new, amazing QK Exclusives". Call it "Susan doesn't know which way is up". Call it "tomorrow is December! - what the heck?".

    But it's a doozie, that's for sure! Let's get started!

    #1 - It's Finished It Friday, even though it's Monday.

    I promised - so here goes! Blox 34, only ten pages this past week, but that's okay. Ten awesome pages are done, documented and preserved! Way to go ladies, even in the face of impending turkey eating, you still managed to crank out a few pages! CONGRATS!

    Super job everyone - thanks for participating last week and thanks, as always, for sharing with us! I love that you like sharing your pages with your fellow blog-readers. And I'm flattered that you enjoy my Blox enough to include them in your scrapbooks. Thank you!

    #2 - Scrapy Land Starting Blox #35. WOW - week thirty-five! Let's finish this month with a bang scrappers...I dare you!

    You know how I like gettin' several pictures on a page, so here's a take with three that are similarly sized. Two are 3.5"x 5" and one is a bit larger at 4"x 6". Three spots of embellies or die-cuts and three areas for pieces of borders. Don't have a border that fits with your theme? Make a border by lining up small die-cuts and making your own border element!

    Here is my take on this Blox...

    I used the QK Arrows border die, and actually used it to point out areas in my photos. I accented those areas with a QK Nesting Circle and QK Nesting Flowers. Thought it worked perfectly for these photos. My title is made up of QK Banana Split and QK Chandelier - love these two together. I did my journaling with the QK Journaling (round) 4x4 die. It's perfect when you have patterned paper that you want to journal on!

    It's up to you - use this Blox as a jumping-off point. See what your pictures and your mood dictates! These Blox will be due to me by Tuesday, December 8th at noon, MST.

    #3 - Here is a picture of my calendar for December {keeping in mind that December doesn't start until tomorrow!}. Lots of stuff in the works, lot of events, lots to do and lots of scrappy goodness!

    WOWZA - between company coming, blogs to post, Blox to create and a Design to Team to help find - there's not going to be time for much else.

    Unless you noticed the first two weeks of the month. There's surely going to be time for...#4.

    #4 - 12 VQKX!

    That's right - twelve videos in twelve days. It's never been done on an on-line store's blog before, so we're breaking ground. If you want to part of the fun please note the times. I've tried my best to mix it up a bit to include our European viewers, our Australian viewers, our Hawaiian viewers, our Costa Rico viewers, our Puerto Rico viewers, and our Asian viewers. Lots of time zones to take into consideration - so I hope I've accommodated everyone. At least once.

    Six shows will be LIVE!, six will be recorded. They will ALL go on the blog, eventually. They will ALL be taped. They will be short, fun, holiday-ish projects...some might simply be twists of old favorites. But I will do my darndest to stick to the schedule and not tweak it unless absolutely necessary!

    I will send out emails the morning of the LIVE! shows, with a run down on the topic and a supply or two you might want to have handy. That's about as prepared as I'll likely be, so know that the recorded shows you can watch later, to work along with.

    And finally, #5 - Scrapy Land Design Team submissions are still due on Decmeber 18th. We have received almost twenty entries - which means I'm most grateful that Dani is making the final decisions. WOW-IEE!! After peeking at the entries that have already come in, my reminder is this...re-read the requirements and send in those items. Nothing more, and nothing less please. This is going to be a tough decision, and I'm dreading December 18th only because that means that waiting begins. GOOD LUCK, and for those that have already entered - THANKS!

    EDITED TO ADD: Let's add in a last minuted #6 - did you see this FUN STUFF over at the Silhouette America site? B-L-I-N-G! Can't wait until my package arrives and I can start blinging up gifts and pages and cards and hoodies!

    Questions, comments, ideas or suggestions for "12VQKX" or good make-ahead breakfast dishes for a crowd - please leave your comments here! I love your comments - it's like a virtual "thumbs up" in the middle of my day! Scrapy Land blog readers are the best around - and I'm still thrilled to get to be a part of the Scrapy Land fun!

    FINISHED IT! FRIDAY...

    and a very big Friday it is!

    It's Friday the 13th, it's 2 weeks before Black Friday and it's finally time for S.L.V.C. 2.0!

    I'm almost speechless. {HAH!}

    First of all, let's start with some news.

    Some bad news.

    I said that if FIFTEEN scrappers managed to finish TWENTY Scrapy Land Starting Blox pages, I'd give away a set of dies.

    Well, it didn't happen.

    I even extended the deadline for you yesterday. It was originally noon MST, and I let several of you turn your pages in late. {I'm a big ol' softie, don'tcha know!}

    But, while we ended up with only FOURTEEN scrappers {oh, so darn close!} those scrappers did manage to complete an astounding TWENTY-NINE pages!

    But gosh, I sure do hate bad news on a Friday...

    SO I'M GIVING AWAY A PRIZE ANYWAY! Woo-hoo - and you know I love giving away prizes! {Okay, I don't always love mailing them...just ask Diane and Vicki!! It's just that I hate, hate, hate our post office!}

    Check out the pages for Scrapy Land Starting Blox Week #33, and then we'll talk prizes at the end of the post!

    Sorry - no comments this week. No time...but know that I love seeing your finished page and knowing that one more memory is safely in place in an album! {And something is goofy with the slide-show maker. I have it selected for the slower, revolving mode I usually use but it keeps defaulting to this one. So for now, we'll have to cope with it.}

    Here are the rest of the pages...

    {AACK...now it's corrected itself to the revolver mode...must be late!}

    Great stuff ladies...super, awesome, amazing stuff! And twenty-nine pages...holy scrap! Sometime before the year is over I am going to go back through every single Blox and add up the total number of pages that Scrapy Land Divas have completed this year! I bet it's mind boggling!

    Now - on to the prizes. Since it was late when the last page came in I had to have my husband pick the winner. But it's okay, he agreed readily, and didn't make me beg or plead! {LOL}

    The winner he picked will receive a Gift Set from National Scrapbook Day 2009. Remember, those great colorful sets from back in May. Well I have a couple of extras...Relax, Reuse or Enjoy. One lucky person is going to pick one of these - and the rest are going back in the "prize pool".

    Hang on to your hats, because dear husband chose...

    Karen E.

    Congratulations Miss Karen! Email me today at scrapylandsusan@gmail.com and let me know which of those three sets you'd prefer. It's not every day that you get to pick your prize, but I decided today was one of those days!

    Now, a brand new Scrapy Land Starting Blox..Week #34.

    But I cheated, I admit it. It's a slight tweak of a inspiration page I did for a friend's web-site 2 weeks ago. Don't hate me because I'm busy. I changed it a little bit, but if it looks familiar it's because you might have seen it on Facebook!

    A super quick and easy page - two little 3"x 3" photos and a whole bunch of patterned papers! I just love using up those sheets that I buy because they are beautiful, and then hoard forever! Go for it - use it this week and be happy because another page is in your album!

    Here is the page I whipped up today - 25 minutes start to finish!

    And I don't tell you 25 minutes to brag...I tell you that to let you know it IS possible! Trust me, if I can do it - anyone can do it!

    For now - I'm in crisis mode. Lots to get done before S.L.V.C. 2.0 kicks off this afternoon. Things to print, photos to pick up, Blox to draw out and chocolate to dig out of the freezer!

    Where it lays hidden - for times just like a 24-hour virtual crop!

    FINISHED IT! FRIDAY...

    on a chilly Saturday morning!

    Great pages from ten different scrappers this week. TEN SCRAPPERS - that's awesome for Halloween week. A week of party planning, classroom activities, football games, costume planning and candy gathering. Good for the ten of you!

    And thanks for sharing your wonderful pages! Lots of Scrapy Land purchases justified this week - always a good thing! Great QuicKutz usage and further enabling!

    Here you go - pages pages and more pages...

    Thank you so much for sharing your pages with us ladies! Great work, great inspiration and great additions to your albums!

    And remember - you can click above on the images themselves and be taken to the full galley for closer inspection!

    One quick item to share today - and one quick apology. First the apology.

    Miss Charlie made a quick-and-easy box that I was going to share yesterday. But for some odd reason I could not get the images downloaded from her email. She made a pattern for us and everything - but I can't get the files out of her email. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen. I can see the pictures, but there isn't anything to download. So check out Charlie's project over at the QuicKutz Gallery. As for the directions - I'll use her pattern in a quick video project sometime in the future because it's a great Scor-Pal project. Thanks Charlie - please forgive my techno glitches with downloading!

    As for a share - how about a Swedish Halloween idea. I know, it's Halloween today - but for some this might still be doable! For those of us that live near an IKEA.

    Veronica emailed me last night and told me she got invited to a last minute dinner party. She needed a quick idea of what to take to the host and hostess. She decided on a bottle of wine, actually, a bottle of GLÖGG which is usually a Christmas wine, served hot and eaten with gingerbread cookies. One Swedish company produces a new "flavor twist" each year - and this year it is mandarin orange. Mandarin ORANGE ladies! Halloween orange! Her hostess gift problem was solved!

    Veronica used a Silhouette cut door hanger as her base, and then decorated it with white pen, tiny letter stickers and a QK Pumpkin.

    So if you're in need of a last minute hostess gift tonight - and live near an IKEA, run pick up a bottle of GLOGG and decorate a few bottle tags. Tell them your Swedish friend Veronica gave you the idea. {Thanks hon!}

    I'm headed outside to oversee {photograph} the pumpkin carving process. Because scrapbook pages await!

    Happy Halloween Scrapy Land Divas! Be safe, be smart and don't forget to smile!

    FINISHED IT! FRIDAY...

    for Scrapy Land's Starting Blox Week #30!

    WOO HOO!

    I have to admit - I didn't know how well this "ME" challenge was going to go over. I didn't know if you'd embrace the whole "scrap myself" dare!

    The interesting thing is - there were some of you who I just knew would participate! I should have written a list of "ME participants" because I would have guessed more than half of you! I LOVE IT!

    And, I love it not only because these gals now have one more completed page in their albums {or stacked on the shelf, waiting to purchase new albums like me}, but they have something recorded about themselves! Something for their kids to look at. A change of pace from the norm. Something different maybe. Something YOU!

    And you just HAVE to love that! Really, you do!

    So here are you pages for this week, in no particular order - - -

    from SHELLY, a 2-pager:

    supplies used: Sizzix Summer Block font. What a gorgeous page. In college I learned that black and yellow is the most eye-catching color combination {think traffic warning signs!} and this page proves that. STUNNING. Mixing up patterns and sized and shapes...and great pictures!

    Shelly's coordinating page is more of the same. Fun pre-cut borders, and those fun little sticker-letters that I am a sucker for! Great journaling - and two more pages done! Thanks for sharing this week Shelly!

    from MARY BETH:

    supplies used: QK Central Park font and QK Nutmeg font and QK Dots border and QK Squares and Dots border and the QK Star DooDads. LOVE these two fonts together. Something about the thin-and-wispy mixed with bold-and-swoopy...looks great! We know MB is a Disney fanatic - so it's only fitting that her pictures all be from Disney. But you know what - that's just fine. That's part of her message about herself...DISNEY-FANATIC! Good stuff MB - thanks!

    from MARY N.:

    supplies used: QK Jacqueline font, QK Diesel font, QK Bead Border and QK 3D Flower. When Mary sent me this - my first comment back to her was "love your nicknames". Then that inspired me to start my own nickname page. {Because Lord knows, I have several!} What a great idea. Think of the roles you play in your life, and chances are you have a different name in some of those roles. Great idea Mary - and LOVE how you worked in the negatives from your bead borders! TOO CUTE! And can I just say - I hope I look this amazing when I'm a grandmother multiple times over!

    from KIM S.:

    supplies used: QK Diesel font, QK Rollerskate font and the QK Sand Dollar. Aren't these just the cutest pictures? Love that she did one with her foot, and one just of her foot prints. And hey, if your own footprint doesn't make you-you, I don't know what does! Great job Kim - and I love the two fonts you mixed together. Such a great pair-up! Thanks for scrapping your vacation work pictures for us!

    from KATHY S.:

    supplies used: a Cricut cut title, QK Nesting Stars, QK Coffee & Tea {an exclusive from cough-cough, another store!} and some crazy-fun Stickles accents. Love the variety of pictures here - Kathy being her Diva-self, Kathy skiing and Kathy celebrating her birthday! What fun, what great memories and what a variety of things we now know about Kathy! Thanks for playing along this week Kathy - good work!

    from JOSÉ:

    supplies used: QK Cookie Cutter flowers and the retired QK Phoebe SkinniMini font. José's title is tricky to translate - but basically means "Me, a fortunate mother...the greatest gift I have is you!" How sweet! So cute how José outlined her shaped paper with a row of flowers and dots. And she did an amazing job mixing up her patterned papers too. Black and whites, just like Shelly! You girls are just impressive...thanks for sharing!

    from JENNIFER:

    supplies used: QK Bead border. Love how Jennifer extended all of the mats for her photos to leave room for some bling and borders! CUTE! And using that big ol' rub-on in one piece is stunning! Great work Jennifer - and we're glad you're admitting your Copic addiction here with photographic evidence! {wink, wink} LOVE IT! Thanks for stepping up to the challenge this week!

    from GAIL:

    supplies used: QK Dragonfly font, QK Journal Grand font, QK Vine border and the Cookie Cutter Nesting Label. Great work Gail! Love how she cut apart her vine borders to fit in a bunch of different areas. Gail admitted that this was a "tough challenge" for her - and that at first she was going to skip this week! {GASP!} But she thought better of it...and look at her results! Old pictures and a new picture - all together! Sweet journaling from the heart too! Congrats Gail for digging deep and gettin' it done! We're glad you shared it with us!

    from DONNA:

    supplies used: QK 3D Butterfly, Making Memories Slice (for her title). Look at Donna's cutie-patootie husband...love that she used a picture with him. Sometimes I fear that my kids will forget that I'm married to their father! LOL - I rarely scrap pictures of just the two of us! GOOD JOB Donna. And then some crazy pictures with her friends - I wouldn't expect anything less. The shadow behind her title totally makes it pop off the page...a great technique! Thanks for sharing missy - now go squeeze that husband of yours for us!

    and from DANIA:

    supplies used: QK Blossom Grand and QK Chick-A-Dee font. At first I was going to send this back to Dania and tell her she had to hand write her journaling - but I decided to give her a pass {LOL}. Only because she included the picture of her being smooshed between two huge M&Ms. I figure that earned her bonus points! Fun pictures, lots of journaling and some insight into who Dania is. I think her kids will LOVE showing this page to the next generation! Thanks for being my first responder this week Dania - way to go!

    That's it for right now. Lots going on today, lots of stacks, lot of to-dos. And you all know how that goes!

    I'll pop back in a couple of hours with a new Starting Blox. Week #31 - holy scrap! Where is this year going?

    But now that it IS October, it's time to start with Halloween ideas. Candy bags, treat containers, goblin wallets, snarky cards...the works! I say this October let's do it up right! {LOL}

    And here at Scrapy Land - we DO do it up right!

    I'm here for your habit...
