    TWO FUN THINGS...

    for this beautiful Monday morning!

First - if you're looking for fun and easy Easter ideas, you've come to the right place. This week Brenda and I will be throwing out all kinds of cute and easy last-minute ideas.

    Fun things for your friends.
    Cute stuff for your neighbors.
    Goodies for your kids' baskets.
Or general pretties for the spring season.

All quick, all easy, all doable and all FUN!

The first is from my crafty-side-kick! She made up these stinkin' adorable candy bar wrappers to give to some of her special friends this week. Because who doesn't like chocolate - wrapped in cuteness! I'm SURE I am on her "special friend" list - but since mine HAS NOT arrived yet I'm assuming she chose not to mail chocolate to Arizona. Because that's rarely a good decision!

For these she used: one big honkin' candy bar, Scrapy Land's Exclusive QK Bunny, QK Banana Split font, QK Flower Doo Dads, Cricut Cartridge Plantain Schoolbook (for the grass), Cricut Cartridge My World (for the fence) and her Cricut Design Studio software to weld the grass pieces and the fence pieces together!

Cute idea, cute design and cute end result! If you put one of these in your child's Easter basket, you could save the wrapped and transfer it to their scrapbook. It becomes a scrapbook page border and all you've got to add are the photographs! LOVE IT!

The other item for today...a video! Now don't get excited - it's not my lost project video from last week - SORRY! It's a demonstration video from CHA. We held on to it until these awesome Sizzix dies were in stock.

The video shows how to use the Chair Pop-Up, but Sizzix released a bunch of fun pop-ups - and they are all IN STOCK!

Thanks for rocking out with me yesterday. The response to THE TWIST has been awesome. I can't wait to see what pages AND cards get submitted this week. I'll turn you all into card makers yet!

If you don't frequent the Scrapy Land Message board - I started a post asking for more song requests. I want to assemble a crazy-fun play list for the National Scrapbook Day Virtual Crop. So leave a comment here if you've got some song suggestions! TOTALLY FUN!

I'm headed out for a hair-cut - it's time for "summer short". So don't be shocked when you see me on this week's Scrapy Land LIVE! Short in my book means SHORT!

Stay tuned for date and time of LIVE!

A COUPLE OF THINGS TO TIDE YOU OVER...

until later this afternoon. When I'll publish all of the Starting Blox entries.

But I didn't want to leave you "blog-less" all day long.

So just a few tid-bits to hold you over until then.

I started playing with the new Scrapy Land Exclusive Build-An-Animal - and WOW is it cute! I predict this is going to be one of the most popular QK Exclusives of 2009. So dang versatile!

Here is the first card I made this morning...remember you can click on the photos for a close-up look...

I used the Scrapy Land Build-An-Animal exclusive (available for sale next Tuesday), the QK Grass Border, QK 3D Cherry, and QK Storybook alphabet. I used my Copic Ciao markers - C1, C3 and RV21. I also used some Stickles on the cherry and on the words "berry mice".

And that made me realize I hadn't shared with you an awesome storage idea for your Stickles stash!

Last week my girlfriend sent me a cute idea for storing Stickles bottles upside down, magneted to a cookie sheet. CUTE - but in my studio I don't have a place to hang a cookie sheet. So I did the next best thing...

I took a metal easel/frame that I've had sitting around my scrapbook room for years. (But I also thought a big 8x10 frame with a piece of metal flashing cut to fit inside of it would be cute!)

I glued magnets to the bottom of my Stickles bottles and VIOLA...perfect Stickles storage. And it's CUTE! Now I just need to figure out how to get a hook on the other side of the easel, so I can hang my circle templates from it! Sure, the magnets I used were probably a bit "overkill" - but I had them on hand. I'm a big believer in "use what-chu got!"

How do you store your Stickles? I'd love to hear...and I'm sure others would as well. And what better place to exchange cute storage ideas...than the Scrapy Land blog! If you have a fun picture of a great storage trick - send it in and I'll share it with the masses!

That's it for now - Starting Blox Week #7 coming later this afternoon. Tons of great pages to share - so make sure you stop back!

    YESTERDAY I GOT GOOD MAIL...

so I have some new "size keys" to show you today.

I got a package from Scrapy Land...full of a Spellbinders order I placed late last week! But the box had a few extra goodies from Dani. {thanks man!} Namely, the three newest Scrapy Land Exclusive dies.

    First, the QuicKutz Panda (Bamboo)...

    I went over the edges of his white parts with a little light grey chalk. I think it adds just a very subtle definition! Now I need to do a card that says "Life is full of PANDA-monium!". {grin}

Next, the Go Kreate Pegasus/Unicorn (Mystic)...

Here "he" is with a full pair of wings (cut one wing twice). He also comes with a horn - to turn him into a Unicorn without wings at all.

    BUT, don't forget...

"he" can also be just a horse. Yep, leave him nekkid of all accessories and he's a graceful, leaping stallion! I love a die that is versatile! And this one is like getting 3-dies-in-1! COOL!

    And finally, the QuicKutz Piano...

which goes together so easily. I thought, by the looks of it, it would have more pieces to assemble. But it's really pretty simple. To make it even easier, I only cut mine twice. Once out of black and once out of white. I used my silver paint pen and colored in the foot peddles, and the under-the-lid. Easy!

(I'm sure that is not the proper term for the guts of the piano.  If you know it, leave me a comment and I'll change it - thanks!)

So there you have the newest exclusives...next to the Scrapy Land Key for size reference. I hope that makes your purchasing decisions easier. I've got some cute Valentine's Day ideas using all of these. But those are for later next week. You know, AFTER CHA.

    Speaking for CHA...hmmm...well, oh never mind! Remind me later and I'll fill you in! {wink wink}

It's so fun being so bad!

Thanks to the bunches of you that have joined the Scrapy Land Facebook Group. We're having a great time. I think we're all learning together, which makes it easier! But if you're around later tonight - I just might turn on my video camera again. You know, here at my desk.

My desk that's in my scrapbook room. The one that I've been working at all day long with new dies! Bunches of brand new dies!

    I'm just saying - - -

    I'm here for your habit...

Edited To Add - to "Northern Star" who left a comment. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. Here is what my blog-update-email said...
Check out the blog this afternoon - I've posted finished die-cuts of the SL Exclusive Panda, Piano and Pegasus. And I'm brainstorming title ideas to use with all of them. If you have any suggestions, leave a comment and I'll give you full credit!
What I meant was, if anyone had any cute/clever suggestions for cards or pages, using these 3 new shapes. For instance my daughter suggested a Valentine Card with the piano on it that says "You hold the keys to my heart".  Or how about something with the panda that says, "It's as plain as black and white...you're mine!". Does that make sense? I was just looking to get some fun comments with cute play-on-words.

Again, sorry for the confusion - I probably should take typing breaks more often! LOL

    PROJECTS...

    on the brain!

I have too many NEW things sitting in front of me.

New dies, new fonts, new papers, new materials, new books, new tools NEW NEW NEW!

(Not to be confused with "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!")

It's enough to drive a blogger to drink.

    (it's 4 o'clock somewhere, right?)

Okay, enough parentheses, let me show you a few samples:

Zafar held true to his word and just emailed me these...

He did apologize for not having the time to "shizzle" them up a bit. You know - with ink and chalk and pop-dots. These are "straight out of the dies". Zafar...I think they are awesome!

Speaking of Zafar - I dove into a few of his company's dies today...

This little pink lady is "Oink the Pig". Is she cute or what? (click on her for an up-close view) I put her with QK SkiniMini Moxie. She's going to go to my daughter, who just got a huge nomination at school. I've tied the card to a big bouquet of pink gerbera daisies and I'm going to leave them in the band room for her. HOW FUN!

And this one I had to put together because a Lime Green VW Micro-Bus is my DREAM CAR! How adorable is this. I'm not giving it to anyone - it's just going to sit here on my computer and make me smile! I used the Go Kreate Camper along with the GK Rome font.

(And I'm sorry - I forgot to put my Die Size Key in there - but my lens cap is there. Does that give you an idea. I won't forget next time...I was in a hurry this morning!)

Okay - back to mom duties. Break time is over.

    SUCH EXCITEMENT FOR A THURSDAY...

makes me worry that Friday won't even matter!

WOO HOO - come on ladies - join in and scream along...

three NEW EXCLUSIVES! Right here at Scrapy Land.

I personally have my favorite - but I won't tell you right now. You'll have to wait until I get the dies and start making samples. It'll be obvious then I think. But suffice it to say, I see perfect uses for ALL THREE DIES!
    • PANDA - zoo, China, Olympics (in China most recently) safari birthdays, play-on-words (more on that later)...
    • PIANO - musical recitals, grand openings/debuts, New York Carnegie Hall, concerts, band performances, sympathy cards, heritage pages...
    • PEGASUS/UNICORN - dreams, fantasy, amusement parks, proms/dances, little girls' princess pages, prince/princess, merry-go-round horse (with no horn, no wings), wings alone on photos of your kids to make them "fairies", wings on hearts for tattoo look...
Okay - my mind is racing!

But my heart is also aflutter - because yesterday I received a HUGE (or as my son says,WHOOOGE) box of Go Kreate dies. Can I just say "holy freakin' die-cuts"! These dies work EXACTLY like a QuicKutz die. Same metal, same foam, exact same techniques for using them in your Revolution, your Cuttlebug your Big Shot or your Wizard. They cut beautifully and the artwork is different than any of the other company's. I'm having a blast!

So you know what that means?

    Yessiree - samples!

Oh, but not right now. Sorry! Later on. If I don't get this Christmas tree down my neighbors are going to sign a petition and have me throw out of the neighborhood!

Go submit your name for the "Name The Exclusive Die Contest" - send your entry to Dani at scrapyexclusive@gmail.com

Check back later and see what I've created with some of my favorite Go Kreate dies.
