    CHIFFON FLOWER HEADBANDS...

    courtesy of your QuicKutz Epic.

    Here is the video, showing how to make these fun little accessories. They are easy, inexpensive and oh-so-quick to throw together!

    If you have any girlies living in your house - you just became the coolest mom on the planet!

    Trust me - I know these things! {LOL}

    Edited to Add - it appear that we are all trying to watch this video at the same time...and we're overloading Blogger's system this morning! So - if you click on the LARGE ARROW in the center of the screen you will be redirected to the UStream web-site instead. Try watching the video from there and see if you can get all the way through. Otherwise, just check back later today. When the novelty has worn off, you should be able to watch it here!

    Supplies used were listed a few days ago...so just scroll down to Monday's post. And I did have a few friends in the studio last night - they were helping me out. {Thanks friends!}

    If you have any questions - feel free to leave a comment here and I'll get back to you with a comment-answer!

    Guest bloggers tomorrow afternoon, so stay tuned. Fun stuff to share!

    I TOTALLY FORGOT...

    to turn my fan off.

    Which normally doesn't mean a hill of beans to you all. But since I recorded another video this morning - it might mean something to you this morning!

    So please, excuse the obnoxious droning of my little lime green fan. You'll be hearing it in the background during this video! {LOL}

    I realized that no one has been talking about Spellbinders Nestabilities in conjunction with their Epic Six. That's almost criminal! So when Terry email me Saturday about embossing her "Nesties" - I had to remedy the situation immediately!

    I emailed Terry the results of my "play time" - so she was happy. Hope you're equally happy, now that you know how to emboss your Nestabilities!

    Starting Blox Week #26 pages are due today - no later than noon PDT please! I'm going to really do my best to get a new Starting Blox for you tomorrow - along with your pages posted. I leave town Wednesday morning...so I need 'em posted before then don't I?

    Questions or comments about using your Nesties in your Epic Six - let me know!

    EARLY MORNING WAKE-UP...

    because my husband was listing to my e-mail "ring". And it was driving him crazy!

    Everyone wants to know some more info about the Epic. How it's working, how I'm lovin' it, how it's performing!

    So far - I have only found one die that has "issues"...an older 4x4 Revolution Butterfly. But I fixed it! Found a work-around.

    Here are some other dies that I cut out...

    Please excuse the sound of my computer fan, i forgot to turn it off before I started. And YES I'm still in my jammies...hand shots only today!

    EDITED TO ADD: I say that it's 11:00 - that does not mean that I just got out of bed at 11:00. I've been up for hours answering email AND test-cutting dies. HAHA...thanks for pointing that out Amie!!

    If you have your Epic, and have found a die that is giving you some problems...drop me an email. Let me know what die it is and if I have it I'll try it too.

    Seriously, I haven't only found the Butterfly to have problems this morning. NO I haven't cut every die I own - but I've tried a bunch!

    More videos coming soon, that will be a bit more polished. I promise. I am LOVIN' how the Epic embosses the new embossing folders!

    EPIC EUPHORIA...

    has taken over my house this morning.

    Well okay, maybe only my scrapbook room. I can't get the boys to show much interest.

    {Although I do think I heard my son mutter "Thank GAWD it's finally here!". And YES, there was an eye-roll that followed!}

    Since it's here, I thought you might enjoy some pictures this morning. You know, so your anticipation can build this weekend!

    You know me...here to enable and excite! {LOL}

    Ladies...I present to you the QuicKutz EPIC SIX!

    I admit - I'm a logo freak. I often buy things based on how cute/unique/classy their logo is. And I just LOVE this logo...so dang hip! This is on the top of the box.

    The side of the box shows the machine itself. I'm not positive how they will ship...mine came inside of another brown box. My guess is they will all ship that way, because there isn't really a space for a shipping label...but that's just a guess!

    Here is my "handle-less Revolution" stacked on top of the Epic box. For size reference purposes. It's substantial, to say the least. One thing I love...not a lot of wasted packaging. This box fits the 2 platforms and the one cutting plate and the machine. There are two small pieces of foam to cushion everything...but that's it! Thanks QuicKutz for designing the packaging as environmentally-friendly as possible!

    And the EPIC! I tried to weigh it this morning, but it's too light to register on my bathroom scale. But all-in-all, the Epic feels about the same weight as the Revolution and the 12" platform together.

    These are the two platforms that come in the box. Love that they are clearly labeled! For right now - I am going to call the dark one "ebony" and the light one "cloudy". You'll see why here in a second. {Remember - ebony and cloudy!}

    When you flip the platforms over - you'll notice they have different shaped holes on the bottom. You'll always know which side is the right side - AND you can tell them apart no matter how they are laying on your scrap table! But watch this Susan-ism:

    • CLOUDY & CIRCLE HOLES = CUTTING....C, C, C
    • EBONY & EDGED HOLES = EMBOSSING...E, E, E
    Okay, so I admit I'm a big fan of mnemonic devices, but in 12 hours I haven't grabbed the wrong platform yet! C, C, C...E, E, E!! {LOL}

    The platforms are SO NICELY sized...13"x 6". Look at how many QuicKutz border dies fit across the cutting platform! Eighteen 2x2 dies fits here, and three 4x4 dies. LOVE IT! And just think of the Cookie Cutter dies!!

    Here is one last look {my feet were scorching, standing on the pavement barefoot!} at the whole shootin' match! Ain't it so purtty!

    OH - and the handle. LOVE THE HANDLE. I've never been told I have dainty hands...man-hands is more like it! So I admit, I was a bit worried when I saw the built-in handle. I was sure it would be too small for me. But it is perfect! It carries comfortably and easily - nothing jiggled {on the machine - LOL!} as I walked outside. Only the handle swung back and forth slightly! {anyone up for Scrapy Land hand tattoos?}

    LOVE IT! I just have a hunch that one of the women at QuicKutz tossed in the handle idea! Don'tcha think?

    The EPIC arrived at 4:30pm yesterday - right before I started the Scrapy Land LIVE! show last night. So OF COURSE, I had to share the excitement with all of the viewers! In case you missed it - here it is, in its entirety!

    EPIC and COPICS and SIL..oh my!

    If you have any questions, leave a comment here on this post. I'll leave you a comment-answer as soon as I can. If you're counting down the MINUTES until your Epic arrives...leave us a fun comment as well.

    If you happen to still be on the fence about the Epic...let me know that as well. Because I do know one thing...if you're anxious about the CHA releases next week YOU WILL WANT TO HAVE AN EPIC ON ORDER when the releases hit the public! Trust me. {wink wink}

    If you're NOT anxious about the CHA releases next week...I need to come check your pulse for signs of life!

    EPIC EXCITEMENT THIS MORNING...

    because the Scrapy Land blog is back to normal.

    Oh I played, and tweaked, and moved and rearranged...trying to make things new and cute. But evidently Blogger and Internet Explorer (for Vista) don't really get along.

    So, too much changing of layouts and colors and gadgets - and IE just up and quits. It just throws in the towel and blocks you.

    {And nothing could be worse than having some of my favorite blog readers (who use IE for Vista) be blocked from the blog.}

    So I put everything back. And I currently posses more HTML knowledge than I ever thought I'd need. So if you need to adjust columns, customize background colors, or rearrange elements - just give me a call.

    {NO...DON'T! I much more enjoy scrapbooking than coding.}

    I told you all during Tuesday's LIVE! show that I've been playing with my NEW Silhouette SD. Got it hooked up to my Mac {thanks to my husband who ran out to get the additional software necessary to run on a Mac...best $69 I've spent all month!} and it's been chugging along next to me ever since.

    I LOVE the new software features that come with this machine. Auto-welding and auto-matting/offsetting being my two favorites right now.

    The other thing I am loving this week is the QuicKutz on-line gallery of downloads. They have seriously ramped up what's available, since I last browsed the selections. OH MOMMA are there some great designs. In fact, new ones just became available today - and if you have a boy in your house you are going to LOVE them!

    I'd call a bunch of them grungy, urban, sporty and edgy. Great stuff - that I can't wait to try!

    The first QK download that I cut on Monday afternoon - was the image called "phrase-family". I used my QK Robo Master software to sketch out my 12"x 12" page and added the photo size I planned to use. Then I placed my "phrase-family" image and sized it accordingly. This is how I cheat, to get a perfectly sized image!

    I loaded up my QK Vinyl - and selected the matching media type. The cut was amazing, on my first try. {And I admit - I guessed on which speed and pressure to use!}

    My resulting page looks like this...

    There is no way I could have placed this image without the QK Transfer Paper. I chose to cut this image from the QK Black Vinyl, because I wanted the look of sticker letters. This made the Transfer Paper the perfect tool of choice!

    Right now - the QK Vinyl AND the Transfer Paper is all on sale - so grab some quick. Some of the demos I will be doing in the next couple of weeks will use the QK vinyl and the transfer paper is a must-have!

    Also, Dani has added a BUNCH of dies to the QuicKutz Super Sale for the 4th of July Weekend. Crazy prices on a crazy amounts of dies. The ones that are in my basket right now:
    And you know some of my favorites, that I always recommend:
    If you have any questions about the Silhouette SD, the QK Vinyl or the QK Transfer paper, shoot me an email or leave a comment here so everyone can benefit from the info exchange!

    If you think you know why the rest of my day is going to be Epic - go ahead and wager a guess!

    Also leave a comment if you're making something YUMMY this weekend. If it's chilled or frozen, count on being asked for the recipe...by ME!! LOL!
