A re-vamp of an old project. Bigger and better - and shizzled! So you know that means I love it!
I'm posting this fast - without pictures - because some girls were having trouble viewing the video LIVE tonight. I'll come back and add in some pictures of my finished project on Monday.
And YES, I know I still owe you a Finished It! Friday. And another Starting Blox.{Looks like it's going to be a busy Monday!}
THANKS LADIES - it's been 12 days of crazy-scrappy-enthusiastic fun! You all made it possible. From the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU! I'm here for your habit...
Totally a fun and versatile project - inspired by my friend in Illinois. She made me one of these this summer and I've held on to it ever since. I just knew it had "holiday inspiration" written all over it. Here it is - rubber bands, paper towels and inspiration all wrapped up in a bottle!
Now obviously, you could go all out decorating these bottles. Die-cuts, bling, glitter and ribbons galore. But this one is for my son - so I decorated it accordingly! {Now if I could figure out how to do this same project with a wine bottle...}
Have fun with this ladies - give it a try and see what you come up with. I'll start a thread on the Scrapy Land Message Boards so you can share your photos.
Tomorrow - the final day of our "12 VQKX" is LIVE! at 6:00 pm MST{that's 5pm in CA, 6pm in AZ, 7pm in TX and 8pm in FL}. Follow the link on the blog to pop into the studio. Go ahead and bring your questions regarding any of these 12 shows. We'll do a Q&A after I finish the project.
I finally got everything shut down last night and just left it. My entire system got five hours of much needed down time. Because this morning at 5:20 a.m. everything fired up perfectly!
Thanks for waiting for me, I was foaming at the mouth knowing I couldn't get yesterday's LIVE! show posted - but it was unavoidable.
SO, this morning, let's get going!
If you missed it - yesterday was Day 10...
Today's video is a cute little "Chew Down", that any kiddo in your family would have fun with. Quick-and-easy...but you knew that already. Didn't you?
EDITED TO ADD: eeek! Almost forgot to add the "snarky" project that I did for my son! Using the same Chicken Noodle font but demonstrating that a Sharpie works just as well for the numbers inside!
And for another couple of project examples - check out the Scrapy Land Message Board. Thanks Mary Beth for posting yours already. If anyone finishes up something today, go ahead and add it there. We'd love to see it.
Day 11 being filmed today - later in the day though. {"The Boy" is coming over for dinner tonight so I'm a bit preoccupied!}
Any questions, ideas or other food items that come in twelves...please leave a comment here.
{I'm only saying that because Phyllis said it first!}
I recorded this video earlier today and then proceeded to completely forget about it. That's what happens when I have a mammoth sized to-do list I guess. My apologies for the lateness of the post - once again.
Today is Day Nine ladies...
Day Nine? I can hardly believe it.
Today's video is all about the infamous "Scotch Tape Trick". Also lovingly referred to as "the STT". But today's tip has a little twist to it. That's right ladies, I took the tape to new levels today!
ENJOY!
That last little trick - wrapping your Scotch Tape around a cutting mat {or a trimmer, or a hunk of chipboard} is a HUGE help when you're trying to line up any font that is supposed to overlap. Trust me - a LIFE SAVER!
Try it and let me know what you think...I really think it'll change how you view and use your cursive/connected fonts!
Supplies used: Scotch Removable Tape {woo hoo - it's back in stock - grab it now because it sells out F-A-S-T!!}, QK Quick Stick{my second most-used tool}, Gingerbread Spine Set and Banana Split.
There were some emails last night concerning the Letterpress papers. There are several sizes of papers available - flat card fronts, folded cards and envelopes. Check the quantities per pack because there were a few that were labeled incorrectly. Some of the flat cards were noted as having only 10 pieces when they really have 25 pieces. So do check them out.
All of my coasters yesterday were cut from A2 Flat Card fronts. These are $6.99 at Scrapy Land and there are forty pieces in each pack. That makes each less than $.18 each. Partner a dozen coasters with a dozen Stem Markers/Wine Charms cut from scraps of patterned paper, and you have an adorable hostess gift for just over $2.00!
And you know me - it's all about the shizzle. Ribbon and paper and die-cut fonts make for great {inexpensive}shizzle this time of year. I hope you got an idea or two today about making that process easier.
Join me tomorrow for "12 VQKX" LIVE! at noon, MST. We'll be chewing gum...LOL!
If you have any questions about today's video project, or any fun comments - please leave me a comment. I'm surviving on peanut clusters, Diet Pepsi and YOUR COMMENTS right now!
Day Eight - holy scrap! Scrapy Land is rockin' the video scene ladies - totally lovin' it. But remember, I couldn't do it without YOU!
Almost 50 viewers for this morning's show, and for a Tuesday morning I thought that was fairly impressive! Thank you for stopping by, and thanks for your support.
Wine Glass Charms/Stem Markers and Party Coasters were today's topic...here's the video in case you missed it.
Obviously lots of possibilities with this idea...wine coasters, cocoa coasters, personalized, decorated, embossed, round and adorably wrapped. As far as glass markers, or wine glass charms go - the sky is the limit. Letterpress, embossed, die-cut embellished, blinged, stamped...you name it, it's possible.
I'll post some pictures on the message board tomorrow - or I'll just add them here. As for tonight, I'm a bit distracted. Hubs just came home and he's been gone for quite some time. I need to reintroduce him to the kids...and the dogs!
Tomorrow is a recorded show. Then Thursday I'll see you LIVE! at noon, MST. Any questions, holiday-fun comments, or ideas for what I should do after day twelve...leave me a comment right here! I'm here for your habit...
