to our first full on project.
The first of the "Fab Four" overachievers! {LOL}
EmmBee worked long and hard on this little project. Which, in my book, means she has either a greater chance of achieving her resolution OR just has more scraps of cardstock to use up.
KIDDING!
She just took a different route. A more methodical and monthly approach to goals for 2010!

She use the Gingerbread Album Set as her starting point, pages and pockets. On her front page she used
QK Diesel,
QK Chicken Noodle,
Chemistry,
Holiday and
Katie Grand. Love how the cover says EXACTLY what is under the cover. 2010...that's it. Plain and simple.
{But you know me, I also love the mix of fonts!}Then she simply went through the months. In January she lists another specific project - cooking with new recipes. But then she INCLUDED THE RECIPE! What a great idea.
QK Calendar Die set {it's out of stock, but check back soon!},
Holiday Cookie Cutters,
Recipe Die set and Chicken Noodle.

Her February pocket page is for her check lists...to document how many scrapbook pages she gets done. It also has a list of birthdays and a list for her walk times. She's planning to write her weight on the calendar pages. She also adds in birthday candle die-cuts on birth dates of family and friends. Hopefully helping to accomplish another one of 2010 goals! She used 2x2 Lips, 2x2 Vote, Oatmeal and Cookie Cutter Love set.

April is a very bright month, here
EmmBee used
Cookie Cutter Spring Set and the 2x2 Retired Easter Basket. Love how she put the die on the date of an event if it applied.
{Visual reminders must work well in her family too!}
Now I could keep going, but this would end up being the longest post in Scrapy Land blog history. Instead here is an overall shot of the 12 month mini goal album...

you can click on the picture for an enlarged look.
The last few dies she used include: 2x2 Fireworks, 2x2 Open Book,
2x2 Boo, 2x2 Candy, 2x2 Bats, 2x2
Cornucopia, 2x2 manger, 2x2 Christmas Tree and the
Sticky Note font.
EmmBee told me that she went through almost an entire glue pen on this one project. It's lots of pieces and lots of parts. But what a great finished project. I think it would be fun to add in a self-portrait to each month's pocket to track progress through the year. GO EMMBEE!
Wonderful inspiration, awesome presentation and great use of stashed supplies.
If you have any questions for
EmmBee, leave a comment-question and she'll get back to you with a comment-answer. Otherwise...comment-love is always appreciated!
Monday - I will have the final Resolution Project from the "Fab Four"...Lolly. Can't wait to wrap up these projects and get ready for January's QK Release Day...which is Tuesday, January 19. {Which for you and me means 10pm Arizona time on Monday!}
I'm here for your habit...

What a great use for the Gingerbread album!! Way to go MB! I love how you made each month so colorful with dies that fit that time of year. This must have been a time consuming project, but it's totally worth it! So, what yummy recipes are in the first pocket?
Cute project MB! I was thinking of making something like this as a perpetual calendar for special days...and the pockets would be a great place to put premade cards for these special people! Thanks for inspiring!
Oh, EmmBee, this is beautiful, and practical, too. What did you use for the actual calendar grid?? I'm stealing this idea for sure! Gail
MB I love your project! Fab Four keep the great idea's coming. You ladies are great!
Randi, great idea on the premade cards!

OMGosh, MB, what a wonderful project. NOW I want the QK calendar dies. Dog-gone it. Another enabler!!!! As I was looking at it I thought what a great idea for a mini album of a special event, like the first year of a grandchild's life, or the first year of a brand-new puppy, etc. You could do the calendar month, and then scrap the photos in the next few pages, and then do another calendar month. I also like Randi's idea. Thanks for the inspiration, MB.
Wow! That kind of reminds me of a Calendar that I did.... GREAT JOB!
MB what a cute idea. You put a lot of time and thought into that project. What a great job!
Absolutely fantastic project! It must have taken forever but so worth the effort! I love how you added little accents for each month and coordinated the colors!
I so totally love that santa's workshop set... I think it was the best die investment I have ever made... and I have a LOT of dies. I have been using the elements from it time and again in just about every project I have been doing lately!
HUGS and thanks for sharing! I cannot wait to hear more about those recipes! We gotta do an exchange on the MB!!!
MB what a wonderful project and I love those pockets! So many uses as you have shown.
Karen
Have to try this projects.. it's inspirational.. love the idea of the pocket for the recipe.
I would also like to ask
Where did you get the template for the actual calender grid?
Thanks for all the nice comments!
The recipes are for Bran Muffins from my Mom & Christmas cookies from my Aunt Katherine.
Randi, the pockets work great for cards. I just made one that is perfect for my nephew so it will go in the July pocket.
Diane, I love the Calendar dies and they are so easy to work with.
Lolly, I love the Workshop dies too! I didn't think I would want to bother with anything that was not 12x12, but these dies are great! This is the second book I have made with that release and I love working with them! :)
Oh, and for the calenders--- "www.timeanddate.com" under "calenders". It lets you specify the details and then I printed it to the size that I needed. It was the first time I had used it, but if you have questions I will try to help.
:) MB
MB - question... did you adhear the following month to the back of the pocket page of the previous month? or were the facing pages all separate? just wondering how the page turning was if you did adhear the following month to the back of the pocket page.
This is right up my alley. You did a great job with the details and I want the Gingerbread set now! Can't wait to see the next project!
Randi, I did adhear the month to the pocket page to the next month. The pocket page was not as wide so I just put a coordinating strip of paper down the right side. My book is pretty thick and when it is full of recipes, lists & cards I may have to split the spine and just loosen the ribbons, but I think it work fine that way too. HTH---MB :)
