SCRAPY LAND'S "FAB FOUR"...

Resolutions projects - day two.

And today is Lara's turn.

Lara also decided to make a scrapbook page to showcase her 2010 Resolutions. She tweaked it just a bit by making them more goal-like instead of resolve-like.

I love it!

Lara decided "baby steps" would be best for 2010. {I tend to agree with her} We just need to make sure she knows that her first quarter goals will need to be done by the end of March, not the end of April - LOL! {Sorry hon, couldn't resist!}

Love the layers on this page...clouds and flowers and vines and journaling. Super dimension and lots of interest for the eye. She used: QK Yogurt (2010), QK Aquarius (did I miss 2009?), Cloud border, Vine border with some Green Copic shading, Revolution Flower and an Exclusive "sparkle" for her flower centers, but these snowflakes would give you kind of a similar look!

Here is close-up peek at how she cut her QK Vine from medium colored green, but then amped it up a bit with some darker green Copic inks. Love the depth it gives the shadows of this vine. And what a great technique to leave the centers of the leaves in the center. Looks fab!

And did you notice that she cut out multiple QK Cloud borders? Some go one way, and some go the other way...but she used my little "edge rolling" tip that I showed you back in December. It makes all the clouds look "right side up". Each cloud she edged with pen-stitches drawn with her American Crafts Memory Markers {in Cherry Red, Chestnut Brown and Marine Blue}.

As for her journaling...

she did this on her computer, easy enough. But what I love is how she put the blue "mat" behind one of the cloud borders and tucked her journaling behind a different cloud border. LOVE those kinds of fun layers tricks. Looks great and makes things not quite so "expected". ADORABLE!

So those are our two Resolution "pages". Thanks Veronica and Lara. Great pages indeed. And it looks like we can expect a "quarterly update page" from Lara come April. {or May, if we go by her quarters!! LOL...again, couldn't resist!} The next two posts will be projects. EmmBee and Lolly were up to their elbows - die-cutting, coloring, inking and gluing. Seriously - prepare to be inspired by some more great ideas.

We aim to please everyone here on the Scrapy Land blog. Resolution Pages for page-lovers, and Resolution Projects for project-lovers.

I think I'm going to make Resolution Cupcakes for cupcake-lovers. {LOL!}

Leave Lara some comment-love...just don't tease her about messing up the 2010 "quarters". It's an honest mistake...and I think I did enough of that!

I'm here for your habit...

Wow, Lara. What a wonderful page. I can't imagine doing something like this. Did you plan it all out at the beginning, or do one thing at a time (i.e., "Oh, maybe I'll put a vine here"; "maybe I'll use jewels for the berries")? Amazing and lovely.

HUGS and thanks for sharing such a lovely LO!

Lara, I love what you did with the vine border (one of my personal faves) by leaving in the centers, shading with Copics, and especially the bling berries! What a cute page, and a great inspiration. Make sure you get those date nights with hubby!!

Lara, I love the page. Love what you did with the cloud border. Most of all I love your resolutions. At some point you will need to tell me about your papers - they are darling.

hey ladies - Lara is busy working on home improvement projects AND dejunking another room in her house {LOL!}

So I'll jump in here and tell you about her papers - because they are some of my faves! Cosmo Cricket papers from the Early Bird line. This line looks so great with the QK Flower she used and the QK vine...line they were made for each other!

:D

Lara, your page is wonderful. Like Susan I especially liked you putting the matts for journaling and photo behind one set of clouds and then put the journaling and photo behind a different set of clouds.

Thanks for all the sweet comments ladies!! The papers are indeed Cosmo Cricket Early Bird (the top cloud border is from their Earth Love collection). I've been in love with their papers ever since I was introduced to them by Suz at the Scrapbook Expo.

Susan, I wish I was starting to cross things off my list...but, alas, I'm still getting my house back to normal after having my hubby alone in it for 4 weeks--lol.

Diane :) I plan the basic layout (picture, title, text)but my projects tend to morph as I work on them. It takes me a while to finally glue a project together because I like to try different things and move elements around. The red blingy berries were the last thing I put on the page...at the last minute I remembered a pack of humungo rhinestones my girls begged me to buy.

Thank you Susan and Lara. I will need to do some googling on those papers.

Lara I would love to see you scrapbook from start to finish! Love your stuff and I like the way you did "Goals" instead of resolutions, it seems much more positive to me and I did the same concept for my project! Great minds! :)

Ha...I was just reading my own comment and wanted to clear things up...my hubby was alone, by himself in the house. It kinda sounded like we were on a second honeymoon or something the way I typed it. :)

We all missed 2009! Another great LO by Lara! I always love to see what you come up with because they are so bright, fun and fresh! Thanks again for some great ideas...I should take your goals for 2010 and make them mine too!

Lara, one of my scrapping friends commented that I "glue too early." I'll do 5 pages for her every 1. I understand what she means now from looking at your page and reading about your process. I'm going to try to be a bit more patient with my scrapping the next few times and see what happens. Thanks!
