A LITTLE OF THIS...

and a smidgen of that.

Otherwise known as "blog housekeeping".

  • Scrapy Land LIVE!
  • NEW Vinyl from QuicKutz...with pictures
  • NEW Gypsy from Provo Craft...with pictures
  • NEW Copics...with color swatches
So let's get this par-tay started, because I've got a deadline fast approaching that I'm not even CLOSE to having done! ACK!

Scrapy Land LIVE! - tomorrow morning. "Using Your Silhouette...some fun ideas for titles and shapes". Tuesday, August 4th - 10 am PDT, 11 am MDT, noon CDT and 1 pm EDT. Viewers of tomorrow's show MUST BE REGISTERED at UStream, and have the password for the studio from me. If you need help, assistance, a cheat-sheet, or the password - send me an email "scrapylandsusan@gmail.com".

NEW Vinyl Colors and Fuzzy Vinyl from QuicKutz - holy scrap is this stuff fun! First of all the Silver and the Cream are gorgeous. These colors are going to be perfect for the holidays. I personally can not WAIT to cut out "Silver Bells" from the Silver Vinyl and put it underneath the lime green and silver wreaths that i hang on my front doors! And the fuzzy vinyl is just to-die-for! It comes in Brown, Black and White and works just like the smooth vinyl.

For those of you that have ever spoken with "Silhouette Brian" at QuicKutz, you know he's a wonderful guy. He has the patience of a saint and is always willing to help with just about anything. Well Brian was excited to show me the Fuzzy Vinyl last week - he even cut me a few samples.

Now, why he cut himself the cute cow - and gave me the "black sheep" I'm not really sure - but I tried not to read too much into it! {LOL} Here is a better close up of the fuzzy sheep that I just snapped outside. I hope you can see the fuzziness a bit better...

Is this stuff cute or what? Thanks Brian - for the demo AND for the fuzzy black sheep! {The NEW Vinyl will be available for order very soon - I'll add in the links as soon as I have them!}

NEW Gypsy from Provo Craft - bunches of emails this weekend, after Dani sent out the Gypsy pre-order information. WOW is this machine cool. Now I admit - I only have the original Cricut, and a small stack of cartridges, but I can still see the benefits of this little machine. I spent about an hour with the "big guys" from Provo Craft last week, and got some of the inside scoop on this gem...

Here is Jim {well, his hand at least!}, one of the VPs, showing me around the design and text screens. You can mix and match shapes from different cartridges right on the screen and weld them together! If you want to take a "test drive" of the Gypsy for yourself - CLICK HERE!

One of the fun features of the Gypsy is the fact that they made the machine itself black - and the "silicone sleeves" interchangeable. If, by chance, you don't like lime green {GASP} you could buy one that more suits your own personality. {the pink and bling one is stinkin' adorable!!} However, I'm lovin' on the green one...does that shock you?

The Gypsy is going to be available in plenty of time for the holidays - but Pre-Orders are up right now.

NEW COPICS from Copic - twelve new colors were unveiled last week - to a thunderous round of applause! These colors are light, and gorgeous, and a necessity for anyone who loves going after the beautiful blending achieved from using your Copics. All of these colors are on the super-light end of the color charts. Triple and quadruple zeros - that's LIGHT! I have nine of them with me - and have been experimenting with colors and match-ups. Here is my comparison to some colors you might have on hand...

The colors I don't have yet are: V0000 Rose Quartz, R0000 Pink Beryl and Y0000 Yellow Fluorite. To show you how beautifully pale these babies are, I colored them up against the next closest color I have in my stash. Now these 12 new colors were released in Sketches only. No Ciaos yet. I've put a poll over on the Scrapy Land Message Board so you can let Dani know if these 12 Sketches are something he should get in. The Sketches are a bit larger, have an oval body and are more expensive by a couple of bucks. Other than that - they are the same. So let Dani know what you think...he's curious!

WHEW! And with all of that updated - I'm off to finish a few things. Let's just say I over-committed myself just a tad this week! Finished It! Friday will be up...well, when I'm back in front of my computer! For now - I gotta scrap for a deadline!

Don't forget to email me for the password for tomorrow's Scrapy Land LIVE! Silhouette class. I've sent out about 45 passwords already - it's likely to be standing room only come class time! {LOL}

I'm here for your habit...

Thanks Susan! The fuzzy vinyl is interesting. When I click on the pic of your sheep it does show more detail. I bet it will be wonderful on cards! I am loving the info on the Gypsy - I just wish I did not have to wait so long for it!

I am loving that fuzzy vinyl. I will definately have to have some of that. Love the samples. Funny he made you a black sheep, lol.
Saw the gypsy demo'd and that is a seriously cool tool. I don't have a cricut but want one of these anyway, lol. Looks very easy to use and great they have different colored sleeves. I think this is going to be a huge seller.
Wish I could want SL live tomorrow but am scrapping with friends tomorrow. Need the distraction from dealing with an empty nest!
