when my family travels - is stash "suitcase surprises" in their luggage.
I love putting 5-bucks in pockets of jeans, wrapping notes around tubes of toothpaste, and tucking goodies in toes of socks! It's fun - you should try it sometime! I can't wait until my husband puts on his turf shoes at the ballfield in Tokyo - hee hee!
Well here is the card I just tucked in my daughter's suitcase for this weekend...
For this card I used: QK Rollerskate, QK Oatmeal, NEW QK Rain Puddle, NEW QK Galosh, QK Scallop border and my Nestabilities, cut then embossed.
I cut the puddle out of vellum, and traced the edge with my C1 Copic Marker. Then I cut strips of paper for "legs in tights" to stick inside the galoshes. The scallop border became the hem of a dress - and a long strip of cardstock held my sentiment in place! Easy and cute!
The unusual sentiment is for my daughter's concert band competition this weekend. (She is not feeling good about their chances of scoring very high!) Our family joke is "If you're going to fail, fail big...and at least have fun doing it!" I changed the sentiment to match their concert theme of "water". Inside the card I wrote, "and look cute doing it!" I thought that matched the polka-dotted galoshes better anyway!
Now, since I have a pile of galoshes cut - I thought I'd make a few more cards up that say "MAKE A SPLASH" and "DON'T BE AFRAID TO GET WET!" I just love having congrats and encouragement cards on hand - because you just never know when someone is going to need a positive nudge!
Try something fun and different this! You know - make a splash!

That is a great card. Loved it from the moment I saw it. Great idea leaving cards for our loved ones. I just thought about sending my dad a funny card every couple days or so. I hope your daughter's concert band competition went well!
