December 9, 2009 at 2:50 PM IT'S SIMPLY DIVINE...
to be at Day Nine!
{I'm only saying that because Phyllis said it first!}
I recorded this video earlier today and then proceeded to completely forget about it. That's what happens when I have a mammoth sized to-do list I guess. My apologies for the lateness of the post - once again.
Today is Day Nine ladies...

Day Nine? I can hardly believe it.
Today's video is all about the infamous "Scotch Tape Trick". Also lovingly referred to as "the STT". But today's tip has a little twist to it. That's right ladies, I took the tape to new levels today!
ENJOY!
That last little trick - wrapping your Scotch Tape around a cutting mat {or a trimmer, or a hunk of chipboard} is a HUGE help when you're trying to line up any font that is supposed to overlap. Trust me - a LIFE SAVER!
Try it and let me know what you think...I really think it'll change how you view and use your cursive/connected fonts!
Supplies used: Scotch Removable Tape {woo hoo - it's back in stock - grab it now because it sells out F-A-S-T!!}, QK Quick Stick {my second most-used tool}, Gingerbread Spine Set and Banana Split.
There were some emails last night concerning the Letterpress papers. There are several sizes of papers available - flat card fronts, folded cards and envelopes. Check the quantities per pack because there were a few that were labeled incorrectly. Some of the flat cards were noted as having only 10 pieces when they really have 25 pieces. So do check them out.
All of my coasters yesterday were cut from A2 Flat Card fronts. These are $6.99 at Scrapy Land and there are forty pieces in each pack. That makes each less than $.18 each. Partner a dozen coasters with a dozen Stem Markers/Wine Charms cut from scraps of patterned paper, and you have an adorable hostess gift for just over $2.00!
And you know me - it's all about the shizzle. Ribbon and paper and die-cut fonts make for great {inexpensive} shizzle this time of year. I hope you got an idea or two today about making that process easier.
Join me tomorrow for "12 VQKX" LIVE! at noon, MST. We'll be chewing gum...LOL!
If you have any questions about today's video project, or any fun comments - please leave me a comment. I'm surviving on peanut clusters, Diet Pepsi and YOUR COMMENTS right now!
I'm here for your habit...

I can't wait to try the tape trick with my connecting fonts (like phoebe skini mini). Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks for the reminder about how great the tape is.
Great tips!! Could I use the gridded sticky mat if the protective plastic was left on? It is a little smaller and has the grid to line up muliple rows.
I wonder if your Visitor Counter will make it to 100,000 by the end of the year:)
Thanks a lot for the good ideas.
I have loved this trick ever since I first saw it! Now I use my tiny fonts a lot more! I even use it on my big fonts to space them on the page better! It is almost as wonderful as Susan! :)
oh Stefanie - the Phoebe Skinni Mini would be PERFECT for this trick!
Vicki - with all the scrappin' you've been doing lately missy - you should have rolls of this stuff handy!! HAVE FUN!
Carolyn - I have tried using the Sticky Mat as a "surface" to line my fonts up on - but fond it to be just not that great. If it's too sticky, the letters won't come up using just the scotch tape, and if I de-stickify it too mcuh, they won't stick down. But try it - and let me know if it worked better for you.
100,000 - WOW - I don't know. There are only twenty one days left this year. That's over 400 hits a day from unique websites...and we average about 300. It'd be fun though, wouldn't it!!??!!??
MB - I know you love this stuff...you should buy stock in Scotch...ticker symbol STT???
I enjoyed picking up more tricks to use the wonderful Scotch tape! Since you turned me on to this tape, I too have pieces short and long on my monitor and desk
Thanks for sharing
Karen
Love both scotch tape tricks. The one I knew about from you already but the second one is a new one to me and I will find it especially useful when I use the Daisy font. That one is so small it is hard to get those letters connected. Thanks Susan.
