November 23, 2009 at 4:33 AM IT'S A HOLIDAY WEEK FOR ME...
and for lots of you as well.
But yes, I do realize that not everyone who visits the Scrapy Land blog will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week. I'm good like that - I do realize that we're not all the same.
At least I try to be.
But even though some of you are not celebrating Thanksgiving, I'm wondering if you'd like to still stop and think about the things that you're thankful for.
In the hopes that you would like to play along, I've decided that this week on the blog I'm going to share a little attitude with you! {hah - cuz I have never done that before! LOL}
A good attitude though, in a week I'm going to call...

This week's posts are going to be shorter-and-sweet-and-to-the-point.
There will be some ideas, and some tips and quite possibly a video. But short-and-sweet will be the theme all week long. But so will gratitude!
Because I truly believe that we all have a multitude of things to be thankful for. {Along with a lot of things to get accomplished before Thursday!}
Right now {I'm writing this Sunday night}, I'm grateful for a couple of things. A couple of things that I was able to translate into shareable projects.
I'm thankful for my daughter's hard work, and stick-to-it-iveness. Because the sweat and the tears and the sunburns and the sore muscles all paid off.
I can't think of a better lesson to teach our teenagers now-a-days. But I'm doubly thankful that she was able to do it surrounded by good friends, great musicians and with a smile on her face.
supplies used: QK Nesting Stars (frames), QK Nesting Stars (shapes) and QK Cookie Cutter Give Thanks. The first time I've used the "Give Thanks" die and I love it. It cut oh-so-beautifully and it's going to work for me all week long!
I'm also grateful for health this season. Other than a nasty cold, caught by yours-truly, we've been pretty healthy. But I don't want to take that for granted, so I came up with a fun idea this weekend - a goofy play on words!
I started with this...
and turned it into this...
Excuse me, but is this the cutest dang thing you've seen all week long? {I figure I'm pretty safe in asking since it's only Monday!} Took me all of 10 minutes to put this together. Easy-peasie.supplies used: QK Chicken Noodle font, QK Nesting Rectangles (for the red "suit"), QK Nesting Squares (for the silver belt buckle), QK Wintergreen Scalloped Page Insert (for the scalloped edge) and Silhouette Vinyl in black, red, white and silver. LOVE IT!
So those are my gratitude items for today. What are yours? Doesn't an attitude of gratitude sound good? What if everyone spent time being grateful, instead of critical. Instead of undermining. Rather than anything else.
Try it, just for today. Or better yet, for this week. Be grateful for those around you. Say thanks for assistance. Return a simple favor. Remember to smile.
EDITED TO ADD: Looks like an attitude of gratitude is all around us. Check out my friend's awesome little project idea over on her blog. Of course, WE would use a few die-cut embellies for our albums...but I'll forgive her for leaving them out. This time!
What can you do today - to show off an attitude of gratitude? Attitudes are contagious, I truly believe that. See if you can influence those around you. Because wouldn't it be wonderful if, come Wednesday, more people were sharing gratitudes, instead of gripes?
What do you think? I'd love to hear! Leave a comment and commit, right here, right now. You're accountable once you type it - Dani and I have our ways you know!
I'm GRATEFUL to be here for your habit...

Like! I'm all for gratitude & thanks. Sure makes it easier to live with when no one is critical or griping. :) Every morning I'm grateful/thankful to have another new beginning to start out with.
Count me in! Wonderful inspiration! I will be grateful that my family is able to come together again this year instead of griping that I have to clean! :)
I am also grateful that I have all the stuff except the sanitizer for that very cute project! THANKS!
I am also grateful for all the extras you give us, Susan! :D
Love the Santa Tizer! I am off to Wally World! I am thankful for so many things! My Savior, who by his grace, I am saved. Four wonderful children, 4 equally great grandchildren. A SIL serving in Afghanstan who will be home for 2 weeks. Thank you Susan for having us reflect on all we have to be thankful for. May you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
I am thankful that God loves me, thankful my family is healthy, thankful for my children, thankful I will get to see 2 of my 4 children over Thanksgiving, thankful for all our military members, thankful I have a hobby that keeps me from going crazy (lol), thankful for all Dani and Susan do for us, thankful to be alive.
Awesome page and santa-tizer project. Love them!

I am thankful for a loving and forgiving God who loves me, chases after me even when I'm being "dumb" and takes care of me. I'm thankful for health and home, loving family, 2 beautiful girls and my hubby, friends who keep me sane, memories....and so much more!
Totally love the Give Thanks page! Congrats to your daughter-great achievement and wonderful commitment.
I'm thankful for the Lord and His goodness. I'm thankful for my family and friends. I'm thankful for the roof over my head, food on the table and our good health. And the list goes on and on.
Love the santa-tizer! and congrats to your daughter for a grand accomplishment.
Happy Thanksgiving Susan, Dani and Rose.
