DON'T YOU THINK IT'S FUN...

when you can inspire yourself?

I did just that with this week's Starting Blox - and I can't stop creating! I'm obsessed (or possessed as the case may be)!

But I can only show you a few of the things that I made last night. I'm sorry. If I showed you all of them, I'd likely get my hand slapped. You know, new shapes, new fonts, new "other things"...new "cool things"...new "fun stuff". Shhhhhh - big secrets coming in from everywhere!

And I've been sworn to secrecy.

Just know, that I'm having FUN! And you are definitely going to want to be sitting by your computer on Sunday. Because when Scrapy Land hits the CHA floor - it's going to be "GAME ON".

Well, I don't know if "game" is the right word. Because you know it's work, right? Not a game at all! It's work, it's drudgery, it's meetings, it's wheeling, it's dealing, it's celebrities, it's make-n-takes, it's pictures, it's squealing, oh yeah, it's WORK!

{grin}

So let's see, the two things I CAN share with you today are both based on yesterday's Starting Blox...and one of them is even a CARD. Yes - because the Starting Blox can inspire all kinds of things...scrapbook pages, greeting cards, posters for 7th grade World Reports on Venezuela and photo arrangements down the hallway to the kids' bedrooms.

Lots of things can result from an inspiration piece!

This scrapbook page is 12"x12"...and is full of sub-par photos. Most of them were blurry because we were laughing so hard...but when printed this small (2"x3") they look fine!

For this page I used: Basic Grey - Sultry, my QK Diesel font, and one of the NEW-SOON-TO-BE-IN-STOCK 12" borders from Go Kreate (the little frilly piece on the journaling block is a piece from the GK border). This was a 20 minute page - it took me longer to convert all of the pictures to black and white, than it did to complete the page. One quick-trick I did, that is hard to see in this picture, is I layered 3 borders on top of each other. In person, it gives the look of a chipboard element, and adds so much to a very simple page! Try it - I think you'll like it!

And yesterday was my girlfriend's birthday - so last night (yeah, I'm always late like that) I sat down to whip up a cute card!

For this I used: a 6x6 card base, the QK Cupcake, the QK Happy Birthday and a bunch of little sprinkles that I cut from the "O" in the QK SM Moxie!

(and just a note here - when I cut out all of the sprinkles, I slipped the "M-N-O-P" die in my Squeeze and went to town squeezing. So while I love my Revolution, there are still plenty of times that I pull out my Squeeze! And it's usually when I need multiples of the exact same die!)

So another page, and a birthday card - both inspired by a simple little line-drawing! You can do it to - try it on anything that you're playing with today. Small page, big page, square card, rectangle card...it's all perfectly fine!

If you have any questions - you know where to find me. I've already gotten one page submission for this week's Blox challenge! Way to go Christine!

I'm here for your habit...

Edited To Add...Jenn asked about what printer I use to print out 2x3 pictures. It's not my printer that does it - it's my photo program...I use iPhoto on my Mac...but I'm pretty sure in most photo editing programs you could select a custom size. If not - I've also just printed "WALLETS" at Costco. They are just about the same size! Hope that helps Jenn...

Awesome job Susan....as always! I was going to do a card this week too....got some birthdays coming up in Feb. I love the idea of layering several die cuts together to get thickness....thanks for the tip!!

.....oh yeah...and I can't wait to get my hands on that Go-Kreate Border....

Another possibility for Jenn . . . Photoshop allows you to custom size what pics you want to print. I know I was able to fit all 4 2x3 prints on one sheet of 8x10, so they printed all at the same time.

No fun knowing so many secrets, lol. Can't wait to hear about all of them. I love your laughter page Susan, such fun pictures.

Susan I love the laughter page and really loving that border! GO! Go Kreate! I'm jealous you can crank a page out in 20 minutes. :)
